I wanted to submit a card for Sharon's Johnson's Love is in the Air challenge, SSNOTIME72 this week. Making Valentine cards is really a fun project because it allows me to express my love and appreciation to those who bring happiness, peace, and joy into my life. The Valentine card, above (on the left, the inside is shown with ticket) belongs to my husband; he selected it as his favorite over the many others made (those will go to my family and friends :-D The front of the card was die cut with Cuttlebug's Concentric Hearts die and covered with 7 Gypsies musical dp, which was sponged to lighten the cs. The inside ticket, which I found on The 80's Me blog, was cut from a really cute template she has created and is sharing, was sponged using Ranger inks, Tea Dye and Scattered Straw to "man it up" some :-D Spellbinder square nestibilities were also used to frame the sentiment. I found some glittered foam at Mike's one day and die cut for the heart on the front of the card, but found some others, already glittered and heart-shaped at Mike's another day and used those to accent the ticket.
For those of you who know my personality, creating things using off beat colors doesn't seem weird at all; in fact, I love anything wild, including my DH :-) When I saw this high heel in the Rubbernecker online store, I couldn't resist it! There are so many color combinations you can use with it. The image was stamped on PTI Stamper's Select white paper and sponged using Scattered Straw and Tea Dye on the bottom. A black marker was used for doodling. The shoe was colored with copic markers. A piece of fiber and rhinestone were added for a little zip on the strap. The red bg paper (pure poppy from PTI) was stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear powder. A square punch from SU! was cut in half and added as a frame on opposite corners of the image. The bottom bg paper is PTI lemon tart sponged with Scattered Straw and Tea Dye and was run through the CB machine 
using the Swiss Dots eb. Below are two other takes on the image. Can you tell how much I like this image? :-) If you would like details on the two extra shoe cards, please let me know.
On December 27, 2008, my oldest child, Ronay, turned 40! I wanted to make a card that reflects her bright and cheery personality (no, not the liquor..ha ha), so I decided to use some very colorful paper to create it. My daughter has the most beautiful natural curl in her hair, so Winobella fit perfectly. The dress was paper pieced with scraps of the dp used on the front of the card, which has lots of glitter on it. The wine glasses were lightly colored with markers and Crystal Effects were added for dimension. The grosgrain ribbons are from PTI, berry sorbet and lemon tart. The ovals were cut using the Petite Classic and Scalloped Oval Nestabilities (how perfect are those cuts :-) Ronay is coming to visit, in April, and hopefully she'll kick up her heels during the time we have together, especially since she lives so far from me :-( The sentiment was computer generated; I wanted to use something a little different for her 40th birthday. The oval image was sponged with Ranger distress inks while still in the die, Scattered Straw and Tea Dye purchased from Rubbernecker. The paper used: PTI Stamper's Select white and berry sorbet, and dp purchased from Michael's.
